Crowns and bridges

A crown also known as a “cap” is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a tooth. It is used to strengthen and protect your tooth structure. When a tooth is root canal treated ,it becomes brittle due to the cut down of blood supply from within, hence it becomes mandatory to place a crown on the tooth for its protection. When you have missing teeth, your remaining teeth tend to shift and occupy the position of missing teeth, which in turn leads to loosening of the adjacent tooth causing additional tooth loss. Crowns and bridges are often a solution that can fill the gaps and restore your mouth back to a healthy state. A crown is an artificial replacement that fits over the remaining part of a tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. While a bridge is the connection of two adjacent teeth to fulfill the space of the in between missing teeth.

A bridge is recommended if you're missing one or more teeth. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite.
